UNIQUE, ECOLOGICAL, MADE IN SWEDEN

At HildaHilda you will find a vast selection of unique jacquard-woven textile products for your own use, your home or someone you care about. All textiles are woven with ecological cotton and linen yarn. Visit our shops on or offline to let yourself be inspired by our colours and patterns which have come to be quite a few since 1995 when the company was founded.

THE MILL - ONE OF THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TEXTILE PRODUCTION SITES IN THE WORLD

We weave our fabrics at a GOTS-certified weaving mill in Västergötland, Linnevaveriet i Horred. Ekelunds has a transparent environmental declaration on their homepage and they even have their own environmental branding with stricter criteria than the industry in general.

The fabrics are woven with organic yarns in cotton and linen, all of which are GOTS-certified. See more:

The yarns are purchased from a company in Germany called TVU. It is also GOTS-certified. See more in German:

The cotton and linen may grow in different countries. The cotton comes from plantations in many places around the world. The linen comes from plantations in Belgium and France. No fertilizers, no pesticides and no genetic modifications are used. Employees at all levels have regulated salaries, correct employment conditions, occupational health care and the right to organize.

If you would like to know more about the weaving mill's environmental work, visit Ekelund's homepage:

MADE IN SWEDEN WITH OUR OWN WEAVING METHOD

All HildaHilda textiles are designed, woven and sewn in Sweden. We strive to keep it that way.

The weaving method was developed by Lott Hildebrand. All fabric is woven with a white warp with three colours in the weft, the opposite to how it is traditionally done. This allows us to be more flexible in our weaving as it is a lot quicker to change three threads in the weft as opposed to thousands in the warp.

Lott Hildebrand, who designs all patterns, uses her left hand in spite of being right-handed. This gives HildaHilda patterns their characteristic design. A selection of the patterns also reoccur in our collection of birch wood articles, such as trays, pot mats and coasters, all of which have also been manufactured in Sweden according to environmentally friendly standards.

STOCKHOLM, TOKYO & HILDAHILDA.SE

In our web shop you won't find everything we ever made, but you will find lots of it!

We are located in the old town "Gamla stan" in Stockholm. Our second largest market is Japan, where we have worked closely with our wholesaler since 2008. A number of articles have been developed with the Japanese market as inspiration.

THE PUBLIC SECTOR

You will also find HildaHilda products in the public sector, such as in hospitals, schools and preschools. As an example, we developed a whole series of products for the Scandinavia inspired preschool Mominoki in central Tokyo.

BACKGROUND

Lott Hildebrand founded HildaHilda in 1995 in connection with finishing her degree as Textile engineer. Lott's thesis entailed developing new methods for weaving images in colour, in more cost effective and efficient ways than was done at the time. Lott is today active as Product manager and chief designer.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers over the years, and we are always welcoming feedback, positive and negative, in the attempt to continuously improve ourselves.

Yours Sincerely,

HildaHilda
